We want to protect everyone everywhere!

At X-Guard we are continuously looking for a balance between safety and comfort. We think it is very important that our safety solution can offer you safety everywhere and that you can count on the right assistance. However, you should not have to give up some comfort in return.

man-down

Using the Risk button in our Alarm app, you can safely carry out your work alone as a 'lone worker'. If you fall and there are no people in your immediate vicinity, the Alarm app detects that you are not moving enough and automatically sounds the alarm. As soon as you sit down quietly somewhere, during a break or when visiting the toilet, you can switch on the pause mode yourself or it will be switched on automatically when the phone is placed on a flat surface. The man-down function is then switched on again when movement is detected after the pause time has expired. [read more about man-down]

The man-down function in the Alarm app is therefore a function that is fully equipped. 'Lone workers' never really have to work completely alone with the X-Guard Alarm app. However, we noticed that inconveniences can also arise at certain times because, for example, you forget to disable the Risk button or because the pause mode is not automatically enabled. The pre-alarm that is automatically generated if there is insufficient movement can then go off and that can cause irritation and nuisance.

Situation sketch

For example, consider a situation where you have just worked alone with the Risk button enabled. You drive to the next location and your phone stays in Risk mode in your work bag. While you are driving, the pre-alarm goes off because the app has not detected enough movement. This is of course not pleasant when you are driving.

We noticed that in these types of situations, safety and comfort are not in balance. That is why we looked for a solution that does provide this balance.

No Man-down but 'Lone worker detection'

Because the Alarm app has detected that you are working alone, we are going to scale up your security.

The new way of securing – that's what X-Guard calls this new, innovative function in the Alarm app. The Alarm app detects that you are working alone at a location or at a time when you are not allowed to work alone. We will protect you at these locations and times, without you having to worry about it – all you have to do is carry the Alarm app with you. It's a kind of ''airbag'' in your phone; You don't have to switch anything on – it's just there. Safety and comfort in one!

How does it work?

As an organization or company you can indicate when (times) and where (location/risk areas) someone is not allowed to work alone. We then ensure that the functions in the Alarm app are set in such a way that employee(s) can work safely in these places and at these times: an automatic alarm is generated in the event of insufficient movement. We ensure that you can work safely alone without having to worry about anything.

X-Guard can configure the above in many different ways according to your wishes. These times and locations can also be added manually in the app by means of the Automatic Switching setting (read more…).

Imagine…

You continue working in the office after working hours (18:00 PM). Your employer has informed us that you are no longer allowed to work alone in the office after 18 p.m. When the Alarm app detects that you are still in the office at 00:18 PM, the app sees this as a risk location at a risk time and automatically activates the Risk button so that you can work safely. When you then leave the office, the Risk button automatically turns off. You can also choose that the button only turns off when you arrive at your home address.

You don't have to do anything during the entire process, we ensure that you can work safely!

Our future plans

In the future, we want to ensure that the Alarm app can see whether you are working with multiple colleagues at that moment. When these colleagues leave the building, the app detects that you are alone on location at a certain time and automatically activates the Risk button (man-down).

We are also working on ''aggression detection'' with which the Alarm app can automatically detect, based on certain words or emotion(s), that a conversation is getting out of hand. Based on this, the emergency center responds and then provides the appropriate assistance.
