The app can be used for various purposes. Many of our customers have staff who (occasionally) work alone. This includes, for example, mental health care workers and bailiffs who only make home visits, but also service technicians. In addition to the business application, we also serve more and more private individuals who like to be able to sound the alarm in the event of an emergency.
Aggression and violence
Different situations have different needs. The philosophy behind the app distinguishes two basic situations. Firstly, the aggression and violence situation, where it is not practical to raise the alarm with a telephone. In the event of aggression and violence, you want to raise the alarm without your attacker realizing it. To do this, we have developed a number of alarm buttons, so that there is always an alarm button that suits your situation. Watch the video below to see which buttons we have.
unconsciousness
The second situation we distinguish is the situation in which you are no longer able to raise the alarm yourself during an emergency: a "man-down" situation. Our developers have devised a so-called smart "man-down" function for this. The app detects the movements you make, just like a pedometer, for example. Are you not exercising enough? The app will then automatically sound the alarm and you can be sure that if something has happened, you will be helped.
Location determination
To ensure always and accurate location, X-Guard uses various technologies, including: GPS en IPS (Indoor Positioning System).
With Global Positioning System (GPS), the location of the protected person is determined for emergency services and other smart security functions. Using GPS we can:
- Accurately determine your location
- Automatically activate security when entering a work location
- Automatically disable security when you enter a safe zone, for example your home address
Indoor Positioning System (IPS)
The Indoor Positioning System (IPS) is an enriching technology on top of GPS and is used to accurately determine your location in situations where GPS does not cover enough. Technologies we use are:
- Bluetooth (Low Energy)
- Wi-Fi
- A link with your agenda
- Geofencing
By using IPS it is possible to locate yourself inside a building at room or corridor level. To achieve this, we must measure your building or location.
Unconsciousness detection (Man-Down / fall detection)
With the unconsciousness detection of the X-Guard function you can easily automatically alarm in the event of a fall or when the wearer has not moved for some time. This way, the wearer can also raise the alarm when he or she is no longer able to do so. The Man-Down function can be fully adjusted to your wishes and can be activated with RISK mode.

Even if your phone is broken, it is possible to create an alarm because we detect that the connection to our server is broken.

X-Guard Alarm Device
Using a smartphone to alarm has many advantages. This means that location determination is better, you only have to charge and carry one device with you and you only need one SIM card. Yet there are plenty of people who prefer to use a separate device. For this reason we have included an Alarm Device in our range. This is equipped with the latest hardware and software, a camera and a calling function, so the device can also be used as a mobile phone and in the near future even as a body camera in combination with the X-Guard Alarm app.
Aggression training
If you decide to use the X-Guard Alarm app, in addition to an X-Guard training, we can also offer a special aggression training to you and your colleagues. This training, given by certified teachers, discusses various emergency situations that may arise during your work in more detail.

What do you get in the free demo?
When using our free demo you are fully protected, including a control room for a period of 30 days.
When you create an alarm you will be connected to our control room for assistance. You will always receive genuine help and we regard your alarm as an actual alarm message.
Would you like to test our system in a different form? Then you can request a consultation without obligation, we will be happy to help you.
Do you use a control room?
We assure you of help, with every alarm. You can choose to report directly to a control room or first deploy your colleagues and/or emergency response team.
Our control rooms are available 24 hours a day to handle any alarms that cannot be resolved without the intervention of a control room.
Will help come immediately after pressing the emergency button?
You don't just create an alarm. If you do this, we will ensure that you receive assistance with the utmost care.
We do this in the following ways
- We will call your colleagues and/or emergency response team
- The colleagues and/or emergency response staff indicate whether they are coming to help
- In parallel, it is automatically checked whether assistance from our emergency center is required
- The control room scales up where necessary and uses the speaking-listening connection for verification of the alarm
- The right help is sent immediately.
Is there national security coverage?
Yes, X-Guard has a nationwide network of security guards. They are available 24 hours a day.
Of course, our security guards are only deployed when necessary. Your own colleagues and/or emergency response personnel are often closer than an emergency service or security guard. Our intelligent system automatically activates the right help.
How do you determine my location?
We determine your location with great precision in various ways.
- We look at your GPS location
- We check the network location of the phone
- We scan for Bluetooth and WiFi beacons that have been placed and measured by X-Guard
- We use the agenda link you have set up
- We use the addresses and automatic switches you set
This combination of techniques makes our location determination accurate. You can use X-Guard's location determination both indoors and outdoors with confidence.
