Explanation of the X-Guard app

Now that you have installed the app and, if necessary, linked the button(s), we can continue with the explanation of the app.

Open the app

What do we see on the screen? The opening screen can be divided into three parts.

  1. Turning the app on and off
  2. Check
  3. The alarm buttons

1. Turning the app on/off

From:

  • The app is out, you can not to alarm

To:

  • The app is on, your location is transmitted and you can sound the alarm

Risk:

  • Android: The app records your movement, if you are not moving enough, the app will automatically sound an alarm.
  • iOS: Risk mode is not yet available for iOS

2. Check

This part of the screen indicates whether there is a connection, whether the position is known and whether the battery voltage is sufficient.

3. The three alarm buttons on the screen and the risk alarm

The orange button, 3a, the assistance alarm.

The orange button is the button used to create an assistance alarm. You can use the assistance alarm if you do not feel safe or if you do not fully trust the situation.

After you have raised the alarm, a speaking/listening connection is set up with the alarm center. The operator will ask you how he can help you.

The red button, 3b, the panic alarm.

The red button is the button used to create a panic alarm. You can do this if there is a threat of aggression or violence.

  • After you sound the alarm, a speaking/listening connection is created with the emergency center.
  • The operator is quiet and just listens.
  • It verifies whether an alarm is real or false.
  • Depending on the outcome, the right help will be deployed.
  • This alarm can also be created via the installed alarm button.
    • Android headset input button
      • 1e long press, the app opens despite screen/phone security
      • You receive feedback by means of a vibrating signal and a pre-alarm on the telephone, the duration of which you can set yourself.
    • Flic Button iOS and Android
      • 1e x, the app opens despite screen/phone security and immediately sounds the alarm

The green button, 3c, the test alarm

The green button is the button that is used as a test button. This allows you to check whether x-Guard is functioning properly.

  • You will receive an email with the notification, including the location of the alarm and the follow-up protocol
  • You will receive a request to provide feedback

The indicator bar, 3d

The indicator bar indicates to what extent the alarm has been created, the bar completely filled means that the alarm has been created.

Email notifications
You will receive an email of all alarms you have created, whether it is a test, assistance or panic alarm.

Risk mode

When the app is in Risk mode, the motion sensor is activated. If the device has not moved sufficiently for a period of two minutes, the app automatically creates a pre-alarm. If you do not respond to this pre-alarm by pressing the installed alarm button, a panic alarm is automatically created.

Other information

Instructional video

The Android instructional film shows how the app (2018) works. The instructional film can also be viewed from the app on Android.

Charge telephone

The X-Guard app does not consume a lot of power, but it is advisable to charge the mobile phone daily. This way you are always assured of proper functioning of the app.

Emergency center number

We recommend saving the emergency center number in the contact list.

iOS

Now you can also select a ringtone under contacts on the iPhone that you want to hear when the emergency center calls and you can also determine here that it should be audible “Always for emergencies” even if you have the sound of your device set to low or off. or when the device is set to “do not disturb”.

Android

On Android devices, you also need to save the song as a favorite. You must then allow exceptions for favorite telephone numbers with the do not disturb function.
The operator can then call you for verification.
