X-Guard Alarm Functionalities

Every user included at your organization has their own license.

If a user is no longer authorized to use the X-Guard Alarm app, this license can be revoked. The user in question will no longer be able to raise an alarm right from that moment.

Licenses can be revoked on a temporary or permanent basis. If you choose to permanently revoke a license, all user data will also be deleted from the X-Guard systems.

The app is available in five languages, which are constantly updated.

Is the language needed for your procedures not listed? Discuss the options with your Account Manager.

Nearly all visible elements can be hidden. This comes in handy when you want to limit the functions of the app or keep control over specific settings.

Your Account Manager can help you change which elements are visible.

The X-Guard Alarm app requires the following operating systems as a minimum:

• Android 7.0 (up to December 31, 2021*)
• iOS 11 (up to December 31, 2021*)
  

The app is constantly being optimized for the most recent versions of Android and iOS. There are differences between the major versions for iOS and Android. We recommend that you always perform a small-scale acceptance test before rolling out any OS upgrade.

*= Official support for Android 7 and iOS 11 will cease from December 31, 2021. This does not mean it will no longer be possible to use the app on these operating systems from that time. The X-Guard Account Managers will sit down with you to explore the best options to create a safe situation.

When using the app on a phone in a car, for example, you may want to prevent the screen from going into sleep mode.

Using this setting, you can easily tell the app (when open) to prevent your screen from going into sleep mode and your phone from being locked.

In version 4.5.0 and above, it's possible to test experimentally pilot functions. These functions are fully integrated, but have not yet been tested.

Test phases in which users can actively use these functions allow us to gather more information about the performance of the functions. When a function is found to be stable, it will be released to everyone.

When you are talking to our helpdesk, you might be asked to open this page. The page contains information about your device, installation and configuration.

You can also use this page to share a logbook with X-Guard or force-retrieve your configuration. Generally speaking, a configuration will be taken over within one hour when the app is switched ON.

Your photo is securely stored on the X-Guard servers. It will be shown when you raise an alarm.

When an external security firm is used, or when a colleague you don't know well responds to your call, it is important they are able to recognize you. Adding a photo to your profile helps them do so.

In Man Down situations where you might be unconscious, a photo will prove essential for the responder to the alarm to verify that you have been located.

Of course, adding a photo is optional.

Your name or the name of the device or department helps identify where an alarm originates from.

Examples of good names for a profile include:

1. Your full first and last name
2. To help locate the device, the name of the place where the phone is used, eg 'Checkout 3'

When you share your work and home address with us, the X-Guard app can automatically adjust its behavior depending on your location.

Your address details are of course stored with all due care and under encryption.

The standard app tutorial covers the following elements:

The tutorial is fully interactive. During the tutorial, you'll be asked to try things for yourself so you can immediately experience the effect. You'll be asked to do the following things during the tutorial:

• Switch the app ON
• Raise a test, assistance and panic alarm
• End a telephone call you've started
• Switch on the RISK mode
• Pause the RISK mode
• View the menu

To make sure our product functions as it should, correct implementation of X-Guard at your organization is essential. Using the timeline, you can check whether everything is working and performing as you expected.

Among other things, the timeline displays the following:

• When have alarms been sent?
• When has protection been switched on/off?
• What has been happening with your external alarm buttons?
• Has your connection been interrupted at any point?

If you spot any information that goes counter to your expectations, feel free to contact the helpdesk.

The information stored on your phone is generally also available to managers and/or admins. They can use our handy reports to monitor and check the performance of X-Guard at your organization.

Reports can be sent on a daily, weekly or monthly basis.

The following reports are available:

• Which alarms have been raised at what point (by who, when, and which urgency level)
• Who is actively using the app
• For how many hours has the app been used over the most recent period
• Inactive devices (eg 'Which devices have not reported to the system in over a week?')

Want to receive a reminder when the app has been switched on for a certain amount of time? No problem!

You can use the settings to specify you would like to receive a notification once the app has been in use for several hours. You will only receive this notification if the app has not been switched OFF.

The GPS position of your phone is displayed on the map in the app as standard. This position is constantly updated.

Addresses retrieved via the diary link or added as ad hoc locations are not displayed on this map. Location correctors will only be used when an alarm is raised.

When the text bubble displays an address instead of 'Your position', this will be a verified address known in our database.

A verified address may be generated via the following sources:

• A scan of your premises/grounds has been performed using beacons or Wi-Fi points, for example
• When you use automatic mode switching, these addresses are recognized as a zone
• When you share your diary with us, and it contains an address
• A manual zone has been added by your admin or organization

When an alarm is raised, a brief text message will be sent. This message states:

• Who raised the alarm
• Where the alarm was raised

We know your telephone number through the X-Guard Alarm app. When you are available to receive alarms (you can specify this in the app), you will automatically be called in case of an alarm if your organization has switched on the 'Notify Each Other' protocol.

Thanks to the stable phone network, raising an alarm by telephone is an extraordinarily effective way to share alarm information. When combined with a text message or e-mail, we can make sure you don't miss out on any information.

All details about an alarm are also available by e-mail. While text messages keep things brief, emails provide a little more information. We can send these e-mails automatically in case of a new alarm, and they contain information about:

• Who raised the alarm
• The position of the alarm
• The response protocol
• The type of alarm

When you are using Dynamic Response, alarm notifications will be sent to the people in your vicinity first. The alarm center will only be contacted if necessary.

The escalation protocol can be specified in any way you wish. This includes the following options:

• Call the alarm center if no one is present in the vicinity
• Generate a warning if no colleagues with emergency response training are present
• Escalate to a second group of responders when an alarm is not confirmed by responders in time

We will send alarm notifications to colleagues in your vicinity as standard, but if they do not respond, we will escalate to the alarm center to guarantee your safety.

You can specify directly through the app whether or not others can call you in case of an alarm. You may be called automatically if your organization opted for the 'Notify Each Other' protocol. In addition, alarm center operators may contact you if you are in the vicinity of an alarm.

You will only be called if you are in the vicinity, the app is switched ON and you are available to respond to the alarm.

The app provides an overview of alarms that are currently outstanding and historic alarms that have already been dealt with.

Outstanding alarms are displayed in a larger size with extensive details, so you can see at a glance what's happened to who, including the location.

As soon as you open an alarm, you'll see the details of the alarm. Depending on your permissions as an alarm recipient, you'll see the following:

• Who raised the alarm
• Where the alarm was raised
• Where the person in question is currently located
• Which correspondence has taken place regarding this alarm and with who
• Who is currently being contacted or who you can contact to respond to the alarm

The alarm position and the current position of the person who raised the alarm are instantly visible on an interactive map. This position is constantly updated in real time.

When someone raises an alarm, the location of that person will be requested every ten seconds.

If necessary, you can chat directly in the X-Guard Alarm app with everyone who has opened the alarm at that time. This function comes in useful to arrange who should take action, or to provide feedback to an alarm center operator.

When you raise an alarm, your phone will instantly establish a voice connection. It is possible to pick up the voice connection of the person who raised the alarm directly in the X-Guard Alarm app. You can communicate directly without having to exchange any phone numbers.

You can call your colleagues with just a one press of a button. The X-Guard system will automatically call the right people. If you'd like to call someone who is on the list but hasn't yet been called, you can start a call yourself directly from the app.

When you arrive at the location of an alarm and provide assistance, you can confirm to the alarm center that the alarm has been responded to.

Once the alarm has been dealt with, the alarm can be canceled. Once canceled, it is no longer possible to communicate, and certain data in the alarm will be anonymized straightaway.

The switch to indicate whether you are happy to help in case of an alarm has been moved. This switch is now part of the main screen.

If you are available to help/secure others, your location will continue to be monitored in the background. You will be monitored with an accuracy level of around two kilometers. That way, your privacy remains guaranteed, but you will still be able to help when you are (relatively) close to an alarm situation.

The majority of the passwords we use on a daily basis are not secure. They are often too short, they are reused too often or they are easy to guess by computers.

X-Guard uses the passwordless principle, meaning a password is no longer required to log in to the app. There are two ways to log in:

1. Receive a login token by e-mail
2. Receive a login token by text message

In both cases, you'll be logged in to your account quickly and easily.

As soon as you enter your username, you will receive an e-mail with information about your login attempt. After checking the information in the message, simply enter your login token in the app.

The token you will receive is only valid for ten minutes, and can only be used on the device used to request it.

As standard, the app will use a text message token. This will be sent out to all accounts created after the launch of version 4.5.0. E-mail will only be used as a backup option when text message verification is unsuccessful.

The text message token will be sent via a secure environment and is only valid for ten minutes.

When registering, users will be asked to scan a QR code. Your Account Manager will have shared this QR code with you, or it will be provided as part of the tutorial.

The QR code makes sure your X-Guard account is immediately stored in the right environment. A preset configuration will also be added to your user profile.

The following settings are available via the QR code:

• All settings available in the app
• Visible logos and pages while registering
• Restriction and automatic allocation of licenses

When you sit down with our Account Manager to discuss your requirements and preferences, the app configuration will also be determined.

You'll receive a QR code you can use during the registration process. Different QR codes may be used per user group or department to differentiate between these groups.

If you are using our professional alarm center, you will instantly be connected to this alarm center during the registration process.

You can raise an alarm straightaway, and our professionally trained alarm center operators will immediately be available to help.

If you use a fixed domain name at your organization, you can request that this e-mail address can only be used for registration in the context of your company. That way, the functional admin (you) can prevent your users from registering for the demo or at other organizations.

You can search for an address using the handy Google address finder. As soon as you enter the address, you can also specify which floor you'll be on as an option.

Next, you can choose how long the alarm should be stored for in the app. If you expect to visit and leave the address within three hours, three hours is a suitable period for the address to remain valid.

Once you have visited an address, you can reselect it from the address history straightaway if you intend to visit it again.

The app is able to scan all diaries shared on your phone. Most phones support diary integration with all providers (Google, Microsoft etc.). Local diaries can also be scanned.

In addition to scanning your diary, it is also possible to log in using your Microsoft account. This enables the app to view all diaries available in the Microsoft account in question as soon as you raise an alarm.

Support for Microsoft Azure accounts was added in version 4.7.0

When you raise an alarm, the app will do the following:

1. Your diary will automatically be scanned by the system (without human involvement)
2. The app will check whether you have an item in your diary that is ongoing at that time*
3. The address for this item will be compared against your GPS location
4. If these positions are in close proximity to one another, the address entered in your diary item will be used as part of the alarm

*= As standard, a margin of 30 minutes has been applied. This margin can be adjusted. Items scheduled for the entire day will always be checked.

When transmitting or viewing data, the app will never look at:

• The title or description of a diary item
• The participants in a diary item

Only information relevant to determining your position will be used.

All Wi-Fi points in a building transmit a signal. By creating an accurate floorplan of your building and linking the unique signal emitted by each Wi-Fi point to a position on the map, we're able to locate you in any building with high accuracy.

Ask your Account Manager about the options for creating a floor plan of your building or location.

Room-level location is possible using our advanced Bluetooth beacon location.

Use X-Guard beacons to accurately determine where someone is located. Using BTLE beacons, we can create an accurate floorplan of your entire building or location.

Back by popular demand: in version 4.8.0 and above, scanning NFC tags is possible again. By scanning an NFC tag, the location linked to that NFC tag is immediately allocated to you.

To scan an NFC tag, your phone must be unlocked and the X-Guard Alarm app must be open.

While you are on the move, your phone tracks your location by requesting your GPS position. If necessary, the app will transmit your position to the X-Guard servers for processing.

To ensure the app has as little impact on your battery life as possible, we only request your position while you are on the move.

If you are at a specific, predefined zone, we can automatically supplement your address with accurate data.

Monitoring can also be defined separately in this zone.

When you enter a zone you have created yourself, such as your home or work address, the app will take this into account when you raise an alarm.

This function works with all addresses you can create in the app:

• home address
• Work address
• Custom addresses for automatic mode switching
• Visiting addresses

The panic alarm or 'red alarm' is a high-priority alarm. You can raise this alarm if you need help immediately.

If you are using an alarm center, the operator will listen to what's happening via the two-way connection. The operator will assess whether you need help and escalate immediately in the meantime where necessary.

If your organization is using the Notify Each Other function, your colleagues will immediately be notified by text message, e-mail and/or phone and will come to your aid straightaway.

The assistance alarm is used in situations where you wish to be supported by an operator or your colleagues. A two-way connection will be established with the operator, who will talk to you directly to discuss your situation. In the meantime, your colleagues will also be notified of your request for assistance, if this option has been set up.

You can raise a test alarm to check whether the app is working properly. Generally speaking, a telephone call is made as part of a test alarm, and you will receive an immediate e-mail confirming the test alarm was raised.

The RISK alarm or Man Down is an alarm that is generated when you stop moving. When in RISK mode, your phone keeps track of your movement. When no movement is detected, an alarm is generated assuming you have fallen or are unconscious.

The alarm levels described are the standard options offered by the app. However, you can also choose to use the alarm buttons in a way that differs from our standard configuration. To do so, feel free to contact your Account Manager to discuss the options.

Examples of custom configurations include:

• Send an e-mail or text message to a group of people without generating an alarm when the green button is pressed
• Call a specific number when the green and amber buttons are pressed, but call the alarm center when the red button is pressed
• Make your colleagues aware of your position by pressing the green button
• etc.

When you hold down the alarm button, your phone will immediately raise an alarm. You will feel your phone vibrate, and a two-way connection will be established.

It's easy to carry the Bluetooth Alarm Button on you with one of our accessories.

In version 4.6.0 and above, it's possible to add and link multiple Bluetooth Alarm Buttons to the app. To be able to link multiple buttons, you will need the new X-Guard Bluetooth Alarm Button with the X-Guard logo.

The Bluetooth Alarm Button can generate multiple alarm levels. Use your button as a test button? No problem! Differentiate between the red, amber and green alarm to configure different usage scenarios. To be able to set button functions, you will need the new X-Guard Bluetooth Alarm Button with the X-Guard logo.

Using one of our Bluetooth Alarm Button accessories? You can specify this in the app settings to make it easier to recognize the button, which comes in especially handy when you are using multiple buttons.

We offer the following accessories:

• X-Guard Belt Clip
• X-Guard Wristband
• X Guard Lanyard

You can order these accessories directly via your Account Manager, or you can contact us directly.

You can change the name of a button to make it easier to recognize. When you link the button to another device, the button name will be carried across with the button.

The advanced functions allow you to link multiple actions to a single button.

Actions can be set for a single click, a double click or holding down the button.

The following actions are currently supported.

Alarms

• Red alert
• Amber alarm
• Green alarm

Other functions

• Pause/resume 'RISK' mode
• Cancel pre-alarm

It is important to know whether your Bluetooth Alarm Button remains connected. If the connection with your phone drops out, you will be unable to raise an alarm.

The X-Guard Alarm app gives you the option to switch on connection monitoring. As soon as the connection drops out, your phone will show a notification to make you aware.

In version 4.8.4 and above, you can choose to receive a notification when the app is active only.

When the button is pressed, the app can issue a notification to confirm. This can be useful when you want to make sure the button functioned correctly.

If you prefer your phone not to use sound and vibration, you can of course switch these options off.

The screen controls can be fully customized. In the next item, we'll run you through the button combinations you can have appear in the app. In addition, the following settings can also be configured:

• How long to hold the button before an alarm is raised
• Whether the phone vibrates when pressing the buttons
• Which function the alarm button has

If you are using just one of the alarm buttons and the amber and green buttons are not needed at your organization, for example, you can choose to hide these buttons.

All visible button combinations are possible:

• All buttons
  • Red, amber and green
• Two buttons
  • Red and amber
  • Red and green
  • Amber and green
• One button only
  • Red only
  • Amber only
  • Green only

In addition, all external alarm buttons or ways to raise an alarm can be configured to follow the behavior of the red, amber or green button.

Any app can send an Android Intent, and the X-Guard Alarm app can pick these up. When we receive an Intent, an alarm will be raised.

The ATEX-certified devices by ® i.safe MOBILE have a special SOS button. This SOS button works with the X-Guard Alarm app, so you can reliably and easily raise an alarm.

The special Myco 3 button can be customized to your needs. This allows us to link it to the X-Guard Alarm app to raise alarms.

We are currently working on a new integration with Unihertz Aton devices. These Android devices have a special button that can be used to raise an alarm.

You can raise an alarm using your XCover button, which is automatically recognized by the app. When setting up this button, you will not need any external hardware buttons.

The X-Guard Alarm app does not use your own phone number to make calls. The advantage of doing so is that you won't incur any charges to make a call. However, the app does use your mobile data network.

We can establish a regular VOIP connection to any telephone number of your choice. As part of this, it is possible to send DTMF tones to the call recipient.

On top of that, we offer special VOIP calls when you wish to be connected to an alarm center. You will be placed in a queue, from where the operator can pick up your call. The advantage of using this technology is that:

• There is no ringing tone while waiting to be connected
• We can automatically record anything that happens during the call in our logbooks
• Your phone can vibrate when the other party picks up the call
• Multiple people can join the call, if necessary

As with every other call, you can choose to use the speakerphone. For each of the different alarms, our app intelligently decides whether or not to switch on the speakerphone:

• For alarms raised via a button, the speakerphone is off as standard
• For RISK alarms, the speakerphone is on as standard

You can use the app settings to switch the speakerphone function on for all calls.

If you do not want to be heard by the other party, you can switch off your microphone during the call.

When you switch on this option, all calls you make via the X-Guard Alarm app will be routed via the speakerphone as standard.

Any telephone calls you make outside of the app will not be affected by this setting.

When making a call, it's useful to know at what point the other party can actively hear you. As soon as you send an alarm, a two-way connection is established. The other party (an alarm center operator, for example) needs to pick up that connection. As soon as this happens, you'll feel your phone vibrate when this setting is switched on.

It is possible to establish a video connection as part of an alarm. This function is only available at organizations where all people involved have given their consent to this privacy-sensitive solution.

This function can only be switched on upon request.

The automatic mode switching function can be used to switch OFF, ON or into RISK mode.

Examples of useful switches include:

• You're no longer at home, so the app should monitor you (the app will switch ON)
• Your phone is charging and is no longer actively used (the app will switch OFF)
• You drive onto a work site, so the app should monitor your movement (the app will switch into RISK mode)

The app can automatically switch to a different mode based on an address. You can choose to have the app switch based on your home and work address, or you can enter a custom address.

You can configure the range around the address before the app should switch modes; the minimum is 200 meters.

When you have various locations where the app can switch OFF and you regularly use your charger in these places, you can switch the app OFF automatically by putting your phone on charge.

The app will immediately switch back ON or into RISK mode when it is taken off charge.

As standard, the app will quietly switch OFF, ON or into RISK mode in the background. You won't notice a thing, and it always works!

If you prefer to receive a confirmation when the app has switched modes, you can turn on this option via the app settings. Once you've done so, you'll receive a notification from the app when it has switched modes automatically.

You can use this function to automatically indicate whether or not you are available to respond to alarms.

If you're at the office, you'll undoubtedly want to receive alarms from your colleagues. If you're at home or on holiday, such alarms are not relevant to you for the time being.

When your phone is switched into RISK mode, the app will constantly check whether any movement can be detected. This process functions on the basis of the accelerometer and gyroscope built in to your phone.

If no movement is detected for a specified time, we will assume a man down situation has occurred.

To prevent you from accidentally raising an alarm when you did not intend to do so, the app will automatically pause itself when your phone is laying flat on a table.

If this setting does not quite match your working methods, it can of course be switched off.

The following settings come as standard:

• If no movement is detected for 2 minutes, a pre-alarm will be raised
• After a pre-alarm, you have 20 seconds to respond before an alarm is raised
• When your phone is laid flat on a table for 15 seconds or starts moving again for 15 seconds, the RISK mode will automatically be paused or resumed
• When paused, no motion detection will be performed for 60 minutes

If these standard values ​​do not suit your working methods, we can adjust them for you remotely.

The pre-alarm lets you know that no movement has been detected. If you have fallen unconscious, your colleagues will hear the pre-alarm sound out loudly so they are able to locate you.

As standard, you have 20 seconds to cancel the pre-alarm. If you fail to do so because you are no longer able to, an alarm will be raised straightaway.

The phone call established in case of a man down alarm always uses your speakerphone, so the alarm center operator or the people who come to your aid can talk to you without you having to pick up your phone.

As soon as the pre-alarm starts, your phone will make a sound. You can use the app settings to choose which sound you prefer. There are ten sounds available to choose from as standard,

varying from quiet to clearly noticeable in various categories.

Not all phones are the same, and not all working methods are the same. For those reasons, you can configure for yourself how much movement the X-Guard Alarm app should detect before it decides that you are moving.

The pre-alarm can be canceled by moving your phone. If necessary for your working methods, you can configure that the app must be opened to cancel the alarm.

If you'd like to receive a notification on your phone when the RISK mode is switched on automatically or paused because your phone is laying flat on a table, you can do so by switching this setting on.

This option is on as standard.

When you phone is in RISK mode, you can also have it monitor your internet connection. If your connection drops out, your phone will send you a warning asking to reconnect in an environment with internet access within a set number of minutes.

If you fail to re-establish a connection within that time, an alarm will be raised via the X-Guard servers.

The various settings for the RISK mode will soon be configurable via the X-Guard Alarm app. If you'd like to change your settings before this option is introduced, we can arrange this for you remotely.

When the app is 'ON', your GPS position will be transmitted. When you are on the move, your position will be transmitted around once a minute, so we are always aware of where you are in case of an alarm.

The app will actively check whether any IPS points are nearby. IPS points such as Bluetooth and/or Wi-Fi beacons can localize your position down to the meter in premises entered into our system.

These checks will be carried out when the app is switched 'ON'.

Your privacy is important. When the app is switched off, we will not send any information to the X-Guard servers. Your location will not be tracked, and no one will be able to see where you are.

Please note, in version 4.9.0 and above, your app will send data if you have specified that you are available, even when the app is off. Your location will be tracked with low accuracy as part of this. This change is clearly displayed in the app.

When the app is switched off, it hardly uses any power. Your location will not be tracked, and your movement will not be monitored.

The app operates in energy saving mode as standard. When this mode is on, the app will fully go to sleep when switched 'OFF'.

Some options require the energy saving mode to be switched off. These options are marked with a red battery icon in the app. Whenever you want to use one of these options, the app will show a warning.

To improve safety, it is only possible to raise an alarm in version 4.8.0 and above when the app is not switched OFF. The app will automatically switch itself ON whenever you need it, so you never forget to switch the app ON or into RISK mode.

You look for an address using Google's easy address finder. Once you enter the address, you can optionally indicate which floor you will be on.

You then choose how long the address should be stored in our app. If you expect to visit and leave this address within 3 hours, then 3 hours is a suitable period during which the address is valid.

Once you have visited an address, you can immediately select it from the history to visit again.

All calendars shared on the phone can be read by our app. Most phones support calendar integrations with all carriers (Google, Microsoft, etc.). Local agendas can also be read.

In addition to reading the telephone calendar, it is also possible to log in with your Microsoft account. All calendars that you have available on the relevant Microsoft account can then be consulted when an alarm is created.

Support for Microsoft Azure accounts was added in version 4.7.0

When creating an alarm the following is done:

1. Your calendar is automatically viewed by the system (not by a human)
2. We will check whether you currently have an item on your agenda* is busy
3. The address of the agenda item is compared with your GPS position
4. If these positions are close to each other, the address entered in the agenda item will be used for your alarm

*= By default it will be a margin 30 minutes used. This margin can be adjusted. All-day items are always checked.

When sending or viewing data, we never look at:

• The title or description of an agenda item
• The participants of an agenda item

Only the relevant information for determining your position is used.

All WiFi points in a building transmit a signal. By completely measuring the building and linking the unique signal per WiFi point to a position on the map, we can locate you very accurately in each building.

Ask your account manager about the options for measuring your building or location.

Localization at room level is possible with our advanced Bluetooth beacon technology coating.

Use X-Guard beacons to accurately determine where someone is. With BTLE beacons we can measure your entire building or location precisely.

Back with a vengeance: scanning NFC tags is possible again from version 4.8.0. By scanning an NFC tag, the position associated with the NFC tag is immediately assigned to you.

To scan an NFC tag, the phone must be unlocked and the X-Guard Alarm app opened.

When you are moving, the phone follows you by requesting your GPS position. If necessary, the app will forward your position to the X-Guard Servers for processing.

We only request your position when you are moving to put as little strain on your battery as possible.

If you are located in a certain predefined zone, we can automatically complete your address with accurate data.

The follow-up can also be defined separately in this zone.

When you enter a zone that you have created yourself, such as your home or work address, the app will take this into account when you create an alarm.

This function works with all addresses you can create in the app:

• Home address
• Work address
• Adjusted addresses for Automatic Switching
• Visiting addresses

The panic alarm or 'red alarm' is a high priority alarm. You can send this alarm when you want immediate help.

If you use an alarm center, the operator will listen via the voice-listening connection. The operator will assess whether you need help and immediately escalate where necessary.

Uses your organization Notify each other? Your colleagues will then have already been alerted by text message, email and/or telephone and will come to you immediately to provide you with the help you need.

The assistance alarm is used in situations where you wish to be supported by an operator or your colleagues. A voice-listening connection is established where the operator will talk directly to you to discuss the situation. Colleagues will also be informed of your request for assistance, if set.

To test whether the app works properly, you can create a test alarm. With a test alarm, no telephone call is usually made and you will immediately receive an email confirming the test.

The risk alarm or Mandown is an alarm generated when you stop moving. The phone monitors the phone's movements in RISK mode, if no movement is detected an alarm is generated implying that you have fallen or are unconscious.

The alarm levels described are the default options offered by the app. However, you can choose to use the alarm buttons differently than our standard configuration. Please contact your account manager and discuss the options.

Some examples of custom configurations include:

• Send an email or text message to a group of people without generating an alarm when pressing the green button
• Call a specific number at the green and orange button, but call the control room at the red button
• Inform your colleagues of your position via the green button
• etc.

By pressing and holding the alarm button, your phone immediately sounds an alarm. You will feel the telephone vibrate and a voice-listening connection will be set up.

You can easily carry the Bluetooth Alarm Button with you by using one of our accessories.

From version 4.6.0 you can add and link multiple Bluetooth Alarm buttons to the app. To link multiple buttons you need the new X-Guard Bluetooth Alarm Button with X-Guard logo.

The Bluetooth Alarm Button can generate different alarm levels. Want to use your button as a test button? No problem! Differentiate between the red, orange and green alarms to configure different use cases. To set a button function you need the new X-Guard Bluetooth Alarm Button with X-Guard logo.

Do you use one of our Bluetooth Alarm Button accessories? Then you can set this in the app to easily recognize the button, which is especially useful when you use different buttons.

We offer the following accessories:

• X-Guard Belt Clip
• X-Guard Wristband
• X-Guard Neck Strap

These accessories can be ordered directly through your account manager or directly contact us.

You can customize the name of the button to make it easy to recognize. When you link the button to another device, the name of the button will go with the button.

The advanced features allow you to link multiple actions to one button.

An action can be set per single click, double click or by pressing and holding the button.

The following actions are now supported.

Alarms

• Red alert
• Orange alarm
• Green alarm

Other functions

• Pause/Resume 'RISK' mode
• Cancel pre-alarm

It is important to know whether your Bluetooth Alarm Button is still connected. If the connection to the phone is lost, you cannot create an alarm.

The X-Guard Alarm app gives you the option to enable connection monitoring. The moment the connection is broken, your phone will let you know by means of a notification.

From version 4.8.4 you can choose to only receive a notification when the app is enabled.

When the button is pressed, you can receive a confirmation notification from the app. This is useful to ensure that the button has functioned properly.

Do you want your phone not to vibrate or make any noise? Then you can of course disable this option.

The screen controls are fully customizable. In the next item you can read which combinations of buttons you can show in the app. In addition, the following settings are configurable:

• How long must a button be held down before an alarm is created?
• Should the phone vibrate when pressing the buttons?
• What function does an alarm button have?

Do you only use one of the alarm buttons and are the orange and green buttons not useful for your organization? You can also hide this.

All visible button combinations are possible:

• All buttons
  • Red, orange and green
• Two buttons
  • Red and orange
  • Red and green
  • Orange and green
• A button
  • Only Red
  • Only Orange
  • Only Green

In addition, all external alarm buttons or alarm methods can be configured to follow the behavior of the red, orange or green button.

Any app can send an Android Intent, which can be received by the X-Guard Alarm app. When we receive this Intent, an alarm will be created.

The ATEX-certified devices from ® i.safe MOBILE have a special SOS button. This SOS button works with the X-Guard Alarm app to reliably create an alarm in an easy way.

The special Myco 3 button can be customized to your liking. We can also connect this to the X-Guard Alarm app to create an alarm.

We are currently working on a new connection with the Unihertz Atom devices. These Android devices have a special button that can be used to create an alarm.

You can create an alarm with your XCover button, it will be automatically recognized by the app. When you set this button you do not need any external hardware buttons.

With the X-Guard Alarm app you do not call from your own telephone number. This has the advantage that you do not incur any costs for calling. However, the mobile data network is used for this.

We can set up a regular VOIP call to any phone number you wish. It is possible to send DTMF tones to the recipient of the call.

We also offer special VOIP calls when you want to connect to an emergency center. You will immediately enter a waiting area where the operator can then connect with you. This technique has the advantage that:

• There is no transition tone during connecting
• We can automatically save everything that happens in the conversation in logs
• The phone can send you a vibrating signal when the other party connects
• Multiple people can dial into the call, if necessary

As with any conversation, you can choose to have the conversation on speakerphone. Our app intelligently chooses whether the loudspeaker should be switched on for the various alarms:

• For alarms created via a button, loudspeaker is the default from
• In the case of a RISK alarm, the loudspeaker is set as standard at

You can choose to always make all calls via the speaker via the app settings.

If you do not want to be heard by the other party, you can turn off your microphone during the conversation.

When you enable this option, all calls you make via the X-Guard Alarm app will be routed via the speaker by default.

Phone calls you make outside the app are not affected by this setting.

During the telephone conversation, it is nice to know when the other party can actively hear you. As soon as you send the alarm, the voice-listening connection is established. The other party (for example the operator) must then connect with you. Once this happens, you will feel the phone vibrate when this setting is enabled.

It is possible to set up a video connection in the event of an alarm. This function is only available within organizations where all involved parties consent to this privacy-sensitive solution.

This feature can only be enabled upon request.

Each user included in your organization has its own license.

If a user is no longer allowed to use the X-Guard Alarm app, the license can be revoked. From that moment on, the user can no longer create an alarm.

Licenses can be revoked temporarily or permanently. If you choose to permanently revoke the license, all user data will also be deleted from the X-Guard systems.

The app is available in 5 languages ​​that are continuously updated.

Are you missing a language for your working method? Discuss the options with your account manager.

Almost all visible elements can be hidden. This is useful when you want to limit the functionality of the app, or want to maintain control over certain settings.

Adjusting the visible elements is arranged by your account manager.

The app is continuously optimized for the most recent version of Android and iOS. There are differences between the major versions from iOS and Android. We always recommend performing an acceptance test on a small scale before rolling out an OS upgrade.

When you use the app on a phone in a car, for example, it may be desirable that the screen never falls asleep.

Setting allows you to easily set the app to prevent your phone screen from going to sleep and locking the phone when it is open.

From version 4.5.0 it is possible to use experimental Pilot functions To test. These functions are fully built-in, but not yet tested.

During a testing phase where users can actively use the feature, we may collect information about the functionality of the feature. When the feature is found to be stable, it will be made public for everyone.
