Mobile device management (MDM)

Mobile device management is about managing all mobile devices in circulation within a company or organization. IT administrators can control, secure and enforce policies on smartphones, tablets and other devices using MDM. Management of settings, user rights and security policies is all done from one central point. In addition to the security of equipment, the security of data is important. That is why many organizations build in the option to remotely lock equipment or erase data in the event of loss or theft of mobile devices.

MDM & the X-Guard Alarm app
Samsung Knox Manage / Knox Suite 

A company or organization can therefore choose to manage the X-Guard Alarm app on (company) devices using MDM software. The Alarm app is then "fixed" to the phone, as it were. In some cases, the Alarm app is the only app on the phone or there are other apps on it, but users cannot access them. An example of this is the Extended Alarm Button. This is an all-in-one alarm button with which a (man-down) alarm can easily be sent. This device is managed through Knox Manage. X-Guard extended alarm button is delivered ready for operation and managed remotely by KnoxManagement.  At X-Guard we work with the software of Samsung Knox Manage en Knox Suite.

X-Guard only offers support if we manage the MDM (i.e. our own Knox environment). If you use another MDM, X0guard can provide application files but cannot provide support.

When X-Guard has made updates, the app user does not have to update the app themselves: this is done by the telephone administrator within the organization.
