An alarm button…
…might be something you only expect to see in a movie: usually in a bank, jewellery shop or petrol station with only a sole employee present late at night. When an emergency situation occurs (a robbery or some other threat) and help is required, the employee discreetly reaches for the alarm button concealed underneath the counter.
This type of traditional alarm button still exists, but these days, invisible (or less visible) protection is required more and more often. As technology has developed, the alarm button has evolved towards a more modern version of the button underneath the counter. In situations where you’d prefer not to be alone, an alarm button guarantees that someone will come to your aid when something goes wrong or is about to go wrong.
